Operation Datta Khel was a British ploy to slice off Gilgit-Baltistan from J&K and hand it over to Pakistan. Without a single Pakistani soldier arriving at Gilgit, the territory was handed over to Pakistan by the British. Pakistanis, thereafter, went gunning for Ladakh where they were halted and eventually pushed back. This is an all-inclusive account of war in High Himalayas during 1947-48.
