Both left and right sides of the brain are used in storytelling. The left side (analytical and digital), controls the muscles on the right side of the body; the right side (visual, intuitive, and analogue), controls the left side of the body. Damage to the left side of the brain affects the right side of the body and vice-versa.
Stories are a persuasive tool using the brain’s analytical left side and as much, if not more, persuasion is created on the emotional, right side. Engagement can be better built through uniting ideas with emotions. Storytelling is a crucial tool. When drawn from real life and then communicating them in your own way, stories gain momentum.
