A cookbook is a chronicle and treasury of the fine art of cooking, an art whose masterpieces although created only to be consumed—would otherwise be lost.

Given that thought this book is special because it is an unofficial record of the fine dining habits of the people of the house of Meers. Centuries of hospitality is woven into the cuisine of a family and Meer Saheb’s Table is its vibrant expression.

Nilofer Usman Ali was born in Allahabad (now Prayagraj) in 1948. She holds a post-graduate degree in Public Administration from Lucknow University of India. She graduated from the renowned Loreto Convent, Lucknow. A well-known national athlete, She is also a highly trained aesthetician.

A gourmet cook and traveller, Nilofer is also an interior decorator. She is now single-handedly restoring her husband Colonel Meer Usman Ali’s ancestral home in Sahaswan, India.
